Inauguration of the UNIMORE AI Center
On March 13, 2026, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia inaugurated the new UNIMORE AI Center at the Modena Technopole. The day concluded a six-year journey to build a building entirely dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, co-funded by the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Italian Ministry of University and Research and UNIMORE, under the aegis of Confindustria Emilia and of the ELLIS network.
The AI Center is a place for research, education and outreach: it hosts open laboratories for more than fifty researchers and PhD students in Artificial Intelligence and a space dedicated to the AI Academy and to companies. Managed by the “Enzo Ferrari” Department of Engineering, it is the home of the AImageLab research lab, of the interdepartmental AIRI Center (Artificial Intelligence Research and Innovation) and of the Modena ELLIS Unit.
