ELLIS, the European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems, is a pan-European network that promotes excellence in AI research and trains the next generation of researchers through its PhD & Postdoc Program.
The Modena ELLIS Unit, directed by Prof. Rita Cucchiara, connects AImageLab and AIRI at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia with MICC at the University of Florence, with computing support from CINECA. Established in 2020, the Unit was renewed in 2026 for another five-year term.
