UNIMORE joins the Horizon Europe project ELLIOT

UNIMORE, with the Modena ELLIS Unit and AImageLab, is proud to announce its participation in ELLIOT, a Horizon Europe project funded with €25 million and coordinated by the Information Technologies Institute (ITI). The project officially started in July 2025, and its kickoff meeting brought together 30 partners from 12 countries to launch this ambitious initiative.
ELLIOT will advance open, trustworthy and general-purpose Multimodal Foundation Models (MGFMs), capable of learning from diverse data streams — including text, video, satellite imagery and sensor signals — and adapting flexibly to multiple domains such as media and journalism, earth and climate modelling, robotic perception, mobility and autonomous driving, computer engineering, and workflow automation.
UNIMORE, through the Modena ELLIS Unit, is a key partner in the project. By joining ELLIOT, the Modena ELLIS Unit continues its commitment to cutting-edge European research in foundation models, multimodality, and trustworthy AI, reinforcing its role as an active hub within the international AI community.
